WAGON has been performing since 2005, mostly in the SF Bay Area, with some small touring stints. Originally formed as an after-work Americana picking party, the group soon inspired each other with original songs and tunes. As the years have passed, new players have joined, honing in on old time tunes, singing, original songwriting and bluegrass stomping. With vibrant young energy for old and new music, this band revels in twisting and bending the lines between bluegrass and old time music, as if no such lines were there. They love performing at atmospheric venues & restaurants, playing square dances, farmers markets, house concerts, and street busking. In 2007, WAGON co-Founder Brian Lamoreaux (banjo, guitar & songwriter) joined up with Dane Miller (fiddle in the New-O-Matics), originally from Nebraska, and Eliot Sutro (mandolin), to form the core of the band. More recently, others have joined the circle like Karen Sonnenblick (guitar, bass & vocals) and Nick Blechman (mandolin, guitar & vocals). Together they create a moody group playing a refreshing mix of their own songs, traditional tunes, and Americana. WAGON is characterized by their tasteful interpretations & arrangements, warm harmonies, drive, pleasant song writing and interesting tune selection. They play regularly at off beat places like the Pelican Inn, The Arlington Cafe, barn dances, farmer's markets, private parties throughout the Bay Area. We hope to see you and hope you'll enjoy WAGON music.
